The Environment Champions (Schools) Industry Module (ECIM) is a new experiential learning module organised jointly by Panasonic and the Singapore National Environment Agency (NEA) to showcase real-life environmental applications and initiatives in the industry. The purpose of the ECIM is to provide the Environment Champions (ECs) an opportunity to learn about the real-life environment applications in a factory and encourage them to apply 'eco ideas' in their daily life.
The ECIM will be held at Panasonic's 'eco ideas' Factory*, Panasonic Refrigeration Devices Singapore Pte. Ltd. (PRDS) and open to all new and existing ECs from primary and secondary schools. To embark on ECIM, ECs must complete at least one of the other EC modules organised by NEA.
The ECIM will commence in March 2010. The module will be conducted 6 times yearly (3 times each for primary and secondary schools in March, June and September school holidays respectively).
ECs who have attended the ECIM programme can proceed to participate in the annual Environment Champions Project Competition (ECPC), where they stand to win a 5-day study trip to Japan. Please click here for more information on the competition.
If you have any queries on the Environment Champions programme, please send them to yeong_sok_ming@nea.gov.sg (secondary schools) and vaanathy_kaliamoorthy@nea.gov.sg (primary schools).
